![]() ![]() We'll see how things improve before then! So anyway I guess the moral of the story here is I'm a bit more optimistic than I was. I didn't depend on Evernote for tasks before, and anything they do would be an improvement on their old barebones reminder system. However I will give Evernote Tasks a chance. I switched to in an effort to self-host more of my daily services, and it's been great. I'm not that excited about Tasks just because I don't need it. That's a lot of shifting gears for a sync server and it didn't sneeze at it. Then I hopped on my desktop and pulled up the note, played the speech recording, recorded a second one in my desktop microphone for the same note, then pulled it back up on my phone and changed the title and text. On my phone I created a text note and then hit the "record attachment" button to add a speech recording to the note. I forgot how nice (and instantaneous) the in-image text searching is! To my surprise 10.11 on Android and Windows 10 is kind of impressive. My 10+ years of notes are still on Evernote though, and I so have the premium account, though, so I installed it today to dig up some old stuff and import them into Joplin. ![]() Be warned: if you think Evernote doesn't listen to your requests? you haven't seen Laurent argue down user requests and explain how they're silly with withering French logic (although. People get the syncing wrong all the time, but it's not hard to set up if you're careful and it works perfectly once it is. If you just need markdown text notes, image attachments and a web clipper, give it a whirl. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your use case. That's been a lot of fun and I highly recommend Joplin. ![]() We all know v10 was a mess so I used the excuse to jump ship for a little while and self-host my own Joplin account. ![]()
